It’s All Energy

Have you ever taken care of a small child? You can see how limited their understanding is of the world around them, and how they struggle to find their way. It makes you wonder, as an adult, what are the limits of our understanding of the world around us?

Most everyone sees the world around us as a physical reality. The forms and shapes have a profound effect on our thoughts, decisions and emotions. We view cause and effect as a one to one relationship and we see time as a linear progression from the past to the present and eventually the future. This is a limited and mundane way to see the world. The world is made up of energy, everyone and everything is energy. Given this understanding, how does that change the way you view the world? Meditate on this. If someone is yelling at you, would you view the event differently if you understood it to be just a flow of energy? Would you take it personally, might you draw different conclusions, would you see it as very personal or put it into perspective in a larger event as it relates to the flow of energy?

Try not to struggle with yourself, expand your understanding of the world around you, when you change the way you look at the world, the world you look will change.

Who Are You?

Some of us will ask this question to ourselves for our entire life, not knowing that it’s unanswerable. There will be only a small few of us that will really know the truth, which is that this questions is like predicting the exact cloud patterns in the sky. The answer is always changing. The truth is you can truly be who and whatever you like to be, there’s no concrete surrounding your spiritual legs. None. Well, none unless you put some there and that’s precisely what most of us do. Most people put their spiritual feet in a box and then flood them with concrete and then wonder why they can’t move freely.

Who are you? Most people will describe a political affiliation, work/career, financial standing, size of waist and a plethora of other superficial descriptions that really are all transient. These descriptions are all physical illusions that facilitate the self stifling symbolic pouring of the cement around our spiritual feet.

There are numerous levels of our consciousness, however for simplicity I’m going to put them into three broad categories, the base, mid-level and higher-level of consciousness. There are also energetic vibrational levels that correspond to each level which I will cover in a future blog, but for right now think of them as different energy levels. The overwhelming majority of us live in the first two levels and only have glimpses of the higher level. Unfortunately these glimpses are quickly dismissed and considered unbelievable and impractical once they are processed by the lower two levels. This is why most people will always search for the answer to, “Who am I”, and never believe the possible answers.

No one can answer that question, but a helpful tip is to understand that you are spirit in body as opposed to a body with spirit in it. Meditate. Open yourself up and let the answers come in.

The Perspective of the Whole

One of the biggest questions people have is how do I create situations that are beneficial in my life? Interesting, this question presupposes that beneficial things do not naturally flow into your life and that struggle is a natural occurrence to overcome.

What if we flipped this paradigm and said, good things naturally flow into our lives and we create the environment that limits their manifestation.

This just like the old question, is glass is half empty or half full? The reality is that the glass is both, half empty and half full and for anyone to project the emptiness or fullness of the glass is a process of the ego. We are taught subliminally from a very young age that everything is either good or bad, we all have a difficult time understanding there’s duality in everything. To clarify I’m talking about issues of the mind, not situations that can be categorized as physical harm.

The best way to understand this is to review your own life, can you recall when perceived failures ultimately ended up as successes and what seemed to be a success was actually a failure? Let’s look at the greater context, how did these events measure up to your intention? This is quite a different question, isn’t it? Would you take a temporary set back to get you to a greater ultimate result, most people would say yes. Is it possible for that set backs sometimes puts you in a greater position to get what you intended to create?

When you evaluate everything that happens to you in the context of good vs bad many times you’ll not see the bigger picture and lose focus on what the most important aspect of attraction is, Intention.

See the attached YouTube of Paulo Coelho and listen to the language of the universe. Clear you mind and throw out your expectations and the evaluation of everything as good or bad, then you will hear clearly.

Hey, Do You Have Permission for That?

One of the most important aspects of being able to manifest something that you want is to have permission. Nothing could be more important. All of the books in the bookstores and libraries combined about self-help and actualization mean nothing if you don’t personally give yourself permission.

Even when you were a child, you were taught that you needed to ask for permission to do something. Yes I know some of you out there didn’t ask for permission to do certain things, but by and large the majority of people need permission to do something, especially something outside the box. Which is why most people view change with such disdain, because it usually comes back to the anxiety of having to ask for permission. Permission from whom? Permission from your family, friends, co-workers, significant others, any one of them can either extend or deny you permission. The most powerful type of permission you can receive is self permission and make no mistake about it without it the road is uphill.

Have you ever known or seen someone with very questionable talent and he or she is extremely successful and you scratch your head as to why? Well wonder no more, the universe isn’t mixed up, it’s simply matching the intention of the individual with regard to permission. You match permission and intention together and watch the success follow.

Generally you don’t have to ask for permission to do something that’s widely accepted. The irony is in order to truly create something from nothing you’re generally taking about breaking the mold or creating a whole new mold. Therefore you can only receive permission, not from society, but only from yourself. Not having much success at something? The first thing you should do is to be honest with yourself and see if you have the necessary level of permission to be successful. You might be giving yourself permission, but significant others might not, only you would know the truth.

Start with permission, self-permission and you’ll be more than half way there.

Your Creative Being

You have to get in touch with the feeling of being in that state. Ask yourself what would i feel like if I have already achieved what I am looking for? Not the words! The indescribable feeling, this is very important. Don’t even try and look for the words, try to match the feeling.

Thoughts elicit feelings, when you get in touch with the feeling capture it. When you have doubts, frustration, anxiety or any other negative emotion, see it, and then go back to that feeling.

Now for the most important part. From there all events that happen in your life from that moment on are designed to get you to your destination, because you are already there. You’re living it, it is you and you are it. Setbacks aren't setbacks but necessary events that will bring you closer to where you want to be.

Let your emotions be your guide. The feeling of anxiety, fear, hopelessness only mean you are not in tune to what you want to be, shed them and put yourself back in that feeling. Being conscious of your thoughts necessary because the recognition of their deception will help you clear the fog. You are not your thoughts and for the most part they are the creator of illusions, know that and understand it.

For the most part your ego is responsible for your most damaging thoughts that haunt you. If there were no you, (which really doesn't exist) then the effect of your thoughts would be significantly be diminished. Understanding that the ego in you wants to be important and will always seek to defend itself is very important in visualizing and putting yourself into the place where you want to be.

Ground yourself, change and evolve. You’re not successful by analyzing, thinking and changing, that’s the old paradigm. The process is seeing, feeling and changing.

Mirror Mirror On The Wall

What do you see when you look into the mirror. You see yourself of course, all the physical aspects of your material body. But are you your body? Yes and no. You should always remember you are spirit in body and not a body with a spirit, seems like semantics, but it’s not.

What you see is more of a function of what your mind wants to or thinks it sees. Some people that are a normal weight think they’re fat, some people that are taller than average think they’re too short. The mind sometimes thinks it’s rational and objective, however there is nothing further from the truth. The mind is a creator of reality. How you perceive the world is how the world is, to your mind.

Now let’s throw time into the equation. Most people think the future is something that’s coming towards them, based on the passage of time. When the future is something they pull towards them based on what they have sent to the symbolic mirror. The unfolding of the future is not independent of your own reality, more like a self fulfilling prophecy that starts within your mind.

If you think of yourself as smart and successful you will pull a certain future towards yourself. This is not a one to one correlation, but a directional one. If you don’t think too highly of yourself, for what ever reason, you will pull a quite different series of events. The best background reading for this is the physicist David Bohm who wrote about the implicate and explicate worlds. Basically the physical world is the explicate and is a projection of the implicate or unseen world.

To round this all up, be care full and mindful of what you are sending to that mirror, it’s not just a simple reflection. Drop your Grounding cord and understand as well as be mindful of your influence in what you pull to yourself.

Ground Yourself and Avoid Learned Helplessness

It is in our DNA to desire to have choices. The fundamental aspect of freedom is the ability to choose. World Wars have literally been fought for this right. We can call it different names freedom, democracy, determination, free will but, at the core is the desire to have the right to choose. Where one wants to live, worship, shop, eat, work, the list is endless. We have watch dogs in the form of media and interest groups and they are charged with watching out for anything that might hinder or stop our freedom to choose.

But, what happens when we have the freedom but the internal ability to choose is taken from you? Or for one reason or another, you just lose the will to choose? Then you have effectively lost your freedom and you’re suffering from Learned Helplessness.

In a groundbreaking study a psychologist Martin Seligman conducted experiments at Cornell University that changed the way people look at choice and control. He took 2 dogs (no animals were hurt during his experiments) and put them in their own bin. On the bottom of both bins was a low level electrical grid. On one side of the bin when the dog felt the shock and pushed the side of the wall the electrical shocks stopped. On the other side of the bin no matter what the dog did he was unable to stop the electrical shocks.

Then the same two dogs were put in a different type of circumstance. They were put into different bins that had openings and the dogs could see how to escape the bins. The shocks were administered and the dog that was previously allowed to stop the shocks immediately escaped through the opening. However the dog that was not allowed to stop the shocks just laid there and didn’t attempt to escape.

What Seligman discovered was basically the will to choose was removed from the dog that was not allowed to control his environment. To extrapolate, the dog didn’t feel his actions would amount to anything that was going to change his condition. Does the circumstances faced by the dogs sound scarily familiar?

We all want to have the freedom to choose, but if we feel that our choices are not going to net any results we tend to freeze or stay in place. It’s too much trouble, I don’t like to change, nothing good is going to happen, I tried already no sense in continuing to try, I am unlucky, it will never happen for me, don’t waste your time, more trouble than it’s worth, did I miss any? We have all opportunity and freedom, but most of us will never exert the will to even take advantage of even a small percentage of opportunities available.

As I said this is Learned Helplessness. Learned because it’s against our very nature to not want to exercise free will and choose. However, if someone or something can set you back and you internalize it, you learned that your choices have no consequence, therefore you are essentially Helpless.

Learn to Ground and root yourself from an energy standpoint and it will be difficult for you not to have the ability to determine your own course and be one with the energy around you. Therefore in harmony, stress free and will be able to create the abundance that you deserve.

Reality, Clear as Mud?

Seeing with new eyes

One of the most fundamental things to understand is the nature of reality. Most of us think because we see an object or an event we are seeing things as they are. As if we are objective observers sitting outside of the situation performing an independent analysis. Nothing could be further from the truth.

What we see is more of a function of what we “think” or “want’ to see, there is no such thing as objectivity. Why? For most of our entire lives we have been taught in school that objectivity was a fundamental pillar of understanding our world.

New findings in physics have confirmed what some ancient and eastern philosophies have been telling us for ages. Without providing the entire background for those who are interested in this topic it is covered in the book by Fritjof Capra entitled The Tao of Physics. Simply put, the macro world of physics was turned upside down when they tried to explain the micro world of sub-atomic physics. This gave rise to the Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle, which says if you can either measure a particles position or momentum, but never both.

The fundamental shift in understanding was that the observer influences was is being observed! By the mere act of trying to measure a particles activity, that act influenced the results. Reworded, there was no separation possible, no objectivity, no me, the scientist/observer and no object/observed, only the combination determined reality.

What what does all of this have to do with you or me? As we live our lives, we hold in our minds that what we observe as reality separate from ourselves, we seek an level of objectivity. This is an illusion. What you see isn’t the reality you think it is, that’s a fact. In part, you are creating the reality that you are experiencing, there is no separation.

In a good mood, chances are every thing you experience from there will have a different feel, upbeat, positive, you can conquer the world. In a bad mood, your reality will flow from that as well, nothing ever works out for me, no way this is going to work, nothing ever goes my way. Both are these view points similar to the proverbial glass half empty or half full.

Remember, the glass can be half empty, half full or both, its all a matter of perspective.

What is Grounding?

Grounding is a process much like meditation, you don't just do it a few times it's a continuous activity. As the daily events of our life unfolds the constant change and the ebb and flow of life requires us to Ground ourselves so we can function and be productive. The greater the uncertainty the more we have to check our Grounding cord and make sure it's solid and rooted.

The energy of Grounding is an immutable force in the universe, it's the only access we have to root ourselves. Many people will use all types of what are essentially vices to facilitate their rooting. Grounding is unlike any other process of rooting, there is no church, philosophy, belief system, leader, membership, cost or anything else.

The process of Grounding is easy to do, the hard part is remembering to check and re-establish your Grounding cord throughout the day.

How do you know when you are not grounded?

* Indecisiveness
* Crippling Uncertainty
* Not making decisions for yourself
* Inability to achieve the smallest goals
* Feeling lethargic

How do you know when your are Grounded?

* One will possess a strong sense of confidence
* Less fearful of decision making and its consequences
* You will feel like you less gullible
* You will be more centered and alert

Welcome to Daily Grounding

Welcome to Daily Grounding, a blog designed to enrich your soul and lift your spirit.

The daily rigors of life can be quite overwhelming and this blog is dedicated to help you create some Grounding everyday.

By Grounding we mean similar to a tree with a root system as large as double its height, people also must have a substantial mental and spiritual root system to Ground themselves. The winds and storms of life will be easier to handle if we can create a way to Ground ourselves, which allows us to better deal with our problems as opposed to avoiding and running from them.

The general misconception is to only focus on the ethereal and attempt to solve problems by creating more concepts and models, but the most overlooked aspect of human development is the importance of creating a strong spiritual Grounding.
